The “VALFIT” Project (Valorization of Friariello between Innovation and Tradition) was funded under the PSR Campania 2014-2022, Measure 16 “Cooperation”, Intervention Type 16.1.2 “Support for the OGs of the EIP for the implementation of projects for the diffusion of innovations within the framework of the strengthening of the Campania AKIS” – Action 2 “Support for Operational Innovation Projects (OIP)”.
The project was presented by the Operational Group (OG) VALFIT consisting of the following partners:
Pasqualina Woodrow is associate professor of Agricultural Genetics at the Department of Environmental, Biological and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies (DiSTABiF) of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. For the project she is involved in the genetic-molecular typing of Friariello Napoletano ecotypes using molecular markers
In its complex composition, OG VALFIT includes a group of subjects that, by virtue of their importance, specific experience and ability to operate in interdisciplinary groups, will allow to connect research, knowledge and agricultural practice. The presence of the professional agricultural organization, which will have the role of promoting the dissemination of knowledge to a wide range of farmers and the cultural association that will have the role of disseminating the results relating to the nutraceutical characterization of the different ecotypes of Friariello and the principles of healthy eating to a large school audience, contributes to completing the composition of the partnership in terms of effectiveness of the proposed actions
