The “VALFIT” Project (Valorization of Friariello between Innovation and Tradition) was presented by the VALFIT operational group (OG) and aims to improve the competitiveness of primary producers by giving value to the typical characteristics of Friariello Napoletano, through the use of modern production practices, respecting tradition, the typicality of the variety and the link with the territory of origin.
Friariello represents the commercial product of turnip tops, a horticultural crop (Brassica rapa L. subsp sylvestris L. Janc. var. esculenta Hort.), cultivated for a very long time, belongs to the Brassicaceae family and for a long time was indicated as Brassica campestris L.
